Benefits of Gratitude
posted: Aug. 16, 2021.
I think it's wonderful to encourage children to express gratitude. It has been well outlined in some research that there is an association between gratitude and the increase in happiness as well as satisfaction with life in impacting a decrease in unhappiness. I recently heard about participants that engaged in an exercise using gratitude in which they expressed thankfulness in a letter and in doing so they appeared to experience a powerful sense of well-being as well as happiness. Training children in the benefits of practicing gratitude is a worthy pursuit. In time, the spirit of thankfulness will make a powerful impact on their lives for the long term. It is really admirable to encourage children to experience the day in being thankful for the joy that each day has the potential to bring. Some research studies have talked about how the practice of gratitude places attention and positive emotions which when they are experienced can also contribute towards physical and psychological benefits.
